Argos Vineyards"What intention can be more valuable than to restore the honor of wine in its homeland, on this journey that has started with Hittites?"
Having been set off with the consultancy of the late Tuğrul Şavkay, one of the most important intellectuals of Turkey, Argos Vineyards continues to operate on a 1.564 hectares land on the slopes of Kızılırmak (Halys River) in Cappadocia, aiming low yield/high quality viticulture. The grapes from vineyards comprising Kalecik Karası, Shiraz, Emir, Narince, Boğazkere and Tempranillo grape varieties are processed by expert enologists and come to the tables as extraordinary wines excellently reflecting the Cappadocia terroir. Being our first product and having been processed by Dear ReşitSoley, founder of world renown Corvus Wines, our Kalecik Karası grapes have achieved the third most beautiful red of Turkey title by Masters of Wine in 2010. Processed by French enologists as from 2010, our Kalecik Karası and Shiraz grapes received a great number of medals. 2010 Turasan / Argos Vineyards Syrah has been the first wine to bring gold medal to Turkey from Syrah du Monde contest in 2013. The same wine has been one of the two wines to bring gold medal to Turkey in 2014, from Decanter, another important contest. Our 2010 Kalecik Karası and 2011 Syrah wines are awarded with silver medal while our 2011 Kalecik Karası wine holds the bronze. We continue working in our vineyards in Cappadocia, one of the most special terroirs of the world, under harsh climate conditions and soil structure without compromising on producing low yield, high quality grapes. We strive to carry the torch of Hittites in one of the homelands of viticulture and viniculture with pride. We don't make wine when the grapes are not in sufficient quality. We rest our wines in the cave cellars of argos in Cappadocia, one of the best 10 wine hotels of the world as selected by Departures.
